Longfield; situated just to the edge of the village of Braunton, (argued as Britain’s largest village.)

Braunton; a village where one is spoilt for choice and with direct routes to all the tourist hotspots, while just a leisurely amble from the local shops, pubs and restaurants. As importantly you are within easy reach of North Devon's magnificent coastline and lovely beaches.

A few minutes outside the village are the Braunton Burrows, (historic site of D-Day Landing preparations), and where one can walk for hours through these majestic dunes. A little further on is the Blue Flag Beaches of Saunton and Croyde - The former, world-renowned for its surf.

Following the alternate route out of the village, Blue Flag Woolacombe Beach is just over the hill.

Further along the coast, you will be spoilt for choice; what with historic villages, heritage sights, golf courses, coast paths and the North Devon cliff line, your biggest difficulty will be in what to do first!

Resultantly; Longfield offers an extremely comfortable and homely base in this very popular village.

A
s you enter the door, you can’t help but be enveloped by the sense of warmth Longfield exudes; the immaculate lounge to the left is abundantly fed by the sun and the ample seating takes the form of rich-cream leather suites and a feature-fireplace in Prussian-blue tiles. A corner unit supports a large-screen television with DVD player.

Further down the passage, you have a large, beautifully appointed dining room, with views into a further seating area (second lounge), this with the added benefit of double-doors onto the lawned and lovingly-maintained Devon country garden.

To the right of the dining area and the second lounge is a modern and high quality kitchen, with all the mod-cons one would expect from a home of this standard. Equipment is new with large fridge/freezer, oven and hob, 4-slice toaster, kettle, microwave and well-stocked inventory of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans.

Off the kitchen is a spacious utility room with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The utility room leads into the garage with hanging space for wetsuits etc.

There is a separate WC with hanbasin and large mirror off the hallway.

Upstairs from the living area, are three exquisitely appointed large bedrooms; each with their own flavour, but themed in the style of ‘French Provence’.

From the muted purples of ripe burgundy grapes in the large double-room, to the hushed chocolates and sand of the ample twin room nearby, one is enveloped by the luxury one would expect at a fine boutique hotel. Finally and spoilt by mid-day sun, the gorgeous autumn-hues of the master suite with large double bed, make one want to sink into blissful solitude. All of the above accentuated by light-absorbing bay windows.

The upstairs shower room has a large walk-in shower, WC and includes a bidet.

From the entertainment area downstairs, one is spoilt with an extensive view outwards. The true pleasure however, is sitting and enjoying an al fresco meal on the rear patio, looking back on the house and over the garden and where, in-between sips of cool summer wine, one can observe the house through the sculptured vine archway.

Beautiful beaches, the nearest being the stunning expanse of Saunton Sands only 2 miles away, with Croyde, Woolacombe, Putsborough and Crow Point only a short drive. Saunton Sands is ideal for surfing, windsurfing and kite boarding or just relaxing.

The Tarka Trail, ideal for walking or cycling, is just around the corner.

Barnstaple, the county town of North Devon, is only 5 miles away.

Saunton Golf Course boasts of two 18-hole golf links, one a championship course, again only 2 miles away.
