Gardenia Cottage, as the name alludes to, is a character cottage with fairy-like gardens. The latter is well-equipped for kids, with climbing frame, trampoline and many nooks to explore. For the adults there is an outside arbour to share summers evening drinks around a fire.
As you enter the home there is an entrance hall with bench and plenty of hanging space for coats and the like.
The homely feel and wood-beamed ceilings are enhanced with central heating throughout.
From the entrance hall there is a large country kitchen/diner which seat 6-8 with modern amenities including; dishwasher, washing machine, coffee percolator, dual oven + stove with hob, bread maker, under-counter fridge, separate large freezer are available.
To the right of the entrance hall is a reception area with office desk and Wi-Fi for your use. From here you enter the large wood-beamed lounge, which has a wood burner in the inglenook and a feature period bread oven.
The comfortable sofas are waiting for one to sink into, while you enjoy the crackle of a fire and a glass of red wine.
For your entertainment needs, there is a 37’’ flat screen TV, Books, Toy Box, X-Box & Nintendo.
The lounge leads to conservatory, which is a perfect play area for the kids.
There is a downstairs WC and bath with shower-over.
From the lounge area a staircase leads to 3 large bedrooms, 1 with bunks, another with twins and finally a large double room. There is also an upstairs WC and basin.
Gardenia Cottage, is the perfect breakaway for rejuvenating your ‘batteries’ and where you will appreciate the quiet and solitude of this character home.
Situated in the heart of Braunton, (Britain’s largest village), one is spoilt for choice with direct routes to all the tourist hotspots.
Just outside the village are the Braunton Burrows, (historic site of D-Day Landing preparations), and where one can walk for hours through these majestic dunes. A little further on is the Blue Flag Beaches of Saunton and Croyde - The former, world-renowned for its surf. Following the alternate route out of the village, Blue Flag Woolacombe Beach is just over the hill. Further along the coast, you will be spoilt for choice; what with historic villages, heritage sights, golf courses, coast paths and the North Devon cliff line, your biggest difficulty will be in what to do first! |
